c. 1824 Rare Historical Blue Creamware Pitcher 7.5” tall with Tribute: “Welcome Lafayette The Nations Guest And Our Countrys Glory.”, by Joseph Stubbs, Staffordshire, England, Extremely Fine.

This Rare “Welcome Lafayette” Pitcher was created for his Triumphant Return Visit and Tour, coming back to the United States from France in 1824, in acceptance of a special invitation from Congress. This lovely deep blue Pitcher measures7.5 inches tall and about 6” in girth at its wide middle and this pitcher has survived in exceptional condition. There are No apparent restorations, only slight signs of wear from use and has two very small nics to interior top rim, not visible from the exterior when displayed. This attractive rare example should not be confused with most other LaFayette pieces as it is significantly more rare, plus being the first example we have offered in five decades.
