Museum Quality Revolutionary War Era Powder Cask

c. 1780s Revolutionary War to War of 1812 Era, Fine Handmade Wire Banded Wooden Powder Cask with its original Brass and Copper Spout with Brass Strap Ring, measuring about 6.5” long x 5” wide x 2.5” thick, Choice Extremely Fine.

This exceptional quality small Powder Cask appears to be made of Walnut staves and ends, being bound with four sets of tightly wound copper wire bands, being whole, solid and complete including its original Brass and Copper Spout with Brass Strap Ring. No date, maker or place. There is some expected slight age and faint surface wear from handling, overall, remaining fundamentally “as made”.
