3		Revolutionary War Officer Clement Biddle Friend of Washington Signed 1793 Sight Draft Fiscal Document CLEMENT BIDDLE (1740-1814). Colonel In the Revolutionary War, he Served at the Battles of Trenton, Princeton, Germantown, Brandywine and Monmouth. Commissary General at Valley Forge Camp under General George Washington. Resigned from the Army in 1780 and in 1781 was made Quartermaster General of the Pennsylvania Troops. DENVER, (1817-1892). 1847 Mexican-American War Captain, Civil War Brigadier General of Volunteers, commissioned by Abraham Lincoln on August 14, 1861, and fought with the Western Armies until he retired in 1863. 16		Exceedingly Rare Samuel Huntington as “Governor & Superintendant of Marine” Signed 1788 Official Document Confirming Current Ownership of a British “Prize” Vessel Seized in 1778 During the American Revolutionary War SAMUEL HUNTINGTON (1731-1796). President of the Continental Congress, Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut, served as President (September 28, 1779 to February 28, 1781) after the Articles of Confederation were ratified, thus... he was “technically” the First President of the United States of America (March 1-July 6, 1781); Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1784 to 1785, and the 18th Governor of Connecticut from 1786 until his death. Huntington was the first United States Governor to have died while in office.
