1817 James Monroe Indian Peace Medal, Struck at the United States Mint from Original Dies in Bronze, Largest Size, 76 mm., Choice Prooflike Uncirculated.

76 mm. Julian IP-8. Struck at the United States Mint from Original dies engraved by Mortiz Furst with the John Reich reverse. A gorgeous Medal with smooth hard prooflike mahogany example with exceptionally full details on both sides. A few tiny flyspecks of tone keep us for calling this fully Gem. There is exceptional and abundant eye appeal. This is a very rare medal and it’s the only the second, not to mention the very finest, that we’ve offered. Worthy of a strong bid.
