1875/76-Dated American Centennial Celebration Period, Display Mounted Pair of Two Original American “Parade Flags” both with their original hand poles fully attached, Choice Very Fine or better.
Mounted within a 11” x 8.75” wood display under glass against a period newspaper backing that shows a printed woodcut image of an American Flag with Liberty Cap atop the Flagpole being flown by an American Eagle with the pole in its talons, a caption dated “Saturday, June 19, 1875” below. Above and to the right of that image are Two printed linen American Parade Flags of different sizes and designs. The smaller at right about 3.5” long x 2” tall on its full hand stick. The other larger Flag measures 6.25” long x 4.5” tall also with its fully intact hand pole attached. A white display card inserted by its maker reads, “American Flags used in Centennial Celebration 1876”. Fully original and ready to proudly display, just as the maker intended. (2 flags) |
