July 7, 1862-Dated Civil War, Printed General Orders No. 74, “A Resolution to Encourage Enlistments in the Regular Army and Volunteer Force,” Extremely Fine. Original Civil War printed copy of War Department General Orders Number 74, 1 page, measuring 5.5" x 6.75", clean and well printed. This order, is a Resolve by Congress and by Order of the Union Secretary of War, details bounty payments for enlistment or reenlistment in the Regular Army or Volunteer Regiments, and is published and distributed for the "information of all concerned". This scarce Order is typed in double columns and is in excellent condition, signed in the text by “L. Thomas, Adjutant General.” |
