Rarely encountered, unusual Collection of Twelve Political Campaign Button Engraved Printing Blocks dating from 1904 to 1952, all (12) Extremely Fine or Better.
Collection of Twelve (12) different original Printing Blocks used in the production of various Political Campaign Buttons, dating from 1904 to 1952. Subjects include: Parker & Davis White Elephant, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, John W. Davis, Dewey & Warren, Hoover & Curtis, Teddy Roosevelt, James M. Cox, Harry S. Truman, Woodrow Wilson, Al Smith, and Dwight Eisenhower. The sizes range from about 3.4” x 1/2” to about 1.5” in diameter. All appear to be in good, possibly usable condition. A unique assortment that would make a nice “go-with” for any Political Button collection, as some of these production printing blocks match, and were used in the production of the actual political buttons (the Parker-Davis White Elephant and the William Howard Taft being two of them having a cursory review of Ted Hakes’ “Encyclopedia of Political Buttons, United States 1896-1972”). One-of-a-kind. (12 items) |
