Hollow Cut Silhouette of gentleman with ink detail under eglomise liner with several layers of ink on paper, black fabric face and coat, paper and ink collar with gold highlights to the subject’s fancy period ruffled shirt, and housed in a lovely bird's eye period style maple frame, measuring 7.25” x 9” including the brass suspension loop at top. A likely later framer’s label attached on back reading: “Geo. H. Brodhead / Fine Arts / No. 150 East Avenue Rochester, N.Y.” with an Ink notation “1829” written at bottom of paper backing. Overall excellent condition with sharp detail and ready to display. |
