This original Document is from Newport, Rhode Island, measuring 4" x 6.25" and is dated "Newport, October 23 1751". It reads, in full: "Received of Thomas Richard on one small box marked TR containing Colony's Interest Bonds with Promise to carry in the Sloop & delivered it to George Brown Esq. or his order, at Providence - the dangers of the Seas excepted, Two of these receipts being signed one to be Fulfill'd Inside & Contents unknown. - (Signed) Daniel Tillinghast". Tone along the right quarter portion side of this receipt, the bottom edge is irregular, otherwise in good condition. A rare 1751 dated Document for the transportation of early American, Colonial Rhode Island Bonds. and Fiscal related document, showing the hazards of transportation via ship for such valuable items stored within a small lock box with its valuable contents being the Colony of Rhode Island's Interest Bonds.
