c. 1887, Lot of TWO (2) Vintage French Theatrical Posters titled, "LES CONTES DE PERRAULT EN CHANSONS," each measuring 19" x 13", Choice Extremely Fine.

Illustrated by "SJOP." Advertising a series of dramatic performances, with words by "Emile Andre" and music by "P. Lacome." They are boldly printed in rich bright blue type highlighting very detailed, and comical, uncolored prints: One of a hooded peasant gesturing towards his wife--who has grown a nose like a long tail; and the other of a Victorian man, dressed in ruffles and preparing to behead a kneeling princess, as he is being impaled from behind. Very sharp, clean posters, with minor age-toning and spotting. Edges are reinforced on verso with brown tape. (2 posters). |
