This Powder Keg was painted black to darken its surfaces, showing wear from actual use during the American Revolutionary War era. This example displays proper age and is rich in patina with all four metal bands solidly intact. It measures about 9.5" tall x 6.5" in diameter at its center, including the brass metal plated opening at top for pouring, and measures 5.25" in diameter at each end. There is overall expected light wear, includes a replacement cork stopper and has a moveable iron metal carrying handle attached at both sides of the central pour hole. Overall, an excellent addition to any Revolutionary War era collection or military display considering its solid condition, appearance and superior eye appeal. |
