J. Prescott,” Choice Crisp Extremely Fine.

This exceptionally fresh, crisp and clean original imprint has 16 pages, Complete, measures 8.5” x 5.5” with bright uncut untrimmed pages as issued with substantial original press text embossing remaining within the paper. Unique, in that this copy being a Gift presented to Samuel J. Prescott, having a brown ink Inscription written at top right of the cover, reading: “For Saml. J. Prescott”. (As a young boy, Samuel J. Prescott, nephew to American Revolutionary War Colonel William Prescott (1726-1795) who Commanded the Patriot forces in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and whose 1798 memoirs praised William Prescott and chided Israel Putnam.) A rare historic and political War of 1812 imprint in exceptional quality. |
