Rare March 6, 1776 South Carolina Revolutionary War Two Pounds Colonial Currency Note PCGS Certified Fine-15
South Carolina, March 6, 1776, Two Pounds, Provincial Congress of South Carolina Bill of Credit, PCGS graded Fine-15.
Fr. SC-122. A rare Two Pounds denomination with only 5,000 notes printed, lacking in most South Carolina Colonial Currency collections. Its PCGS holder notes apparent splits, tears, minor edge damage, repairs and mounting remnants on back which is “overkill”. There is a splitting vertical centerfold which is reinforced on its blank reverse with a strip of contemporary laid period paper and is otherwise clean. Printed in red and black on white laid paper, signed by N. Russell and William Greenwood. Provenance Ex: Eric P. Newman Collection.
