"Boston 25 Oct. 1856. -- Dear Sir, -- I have this day received the first & tenth volumes of (John) Adam's works from Washington. I have substituted your address for my own & sent it back to the Post - Office to go forward to you under Mr Dicken's frank. I have done something like this, in a former similar instance, with the permission of the Post - Office, so that I hope no objection will be made on this occasion. - I remain, Dear Sir, - respectfully Yours, - (Signed) Edward Everett".
