1840-Stitch Dated, Jacquard Coverlet Signed and Dated in Corner Designs, "Woove at Newark Ohio by G. Stich 1840," Very Fine.

Colorful antique Jacquard Coverlet in dark rich blue on white linen, two panels sewn together measuring to 80" x 72". Signed and Dated in two corner designs, "Woove at Newark Ohio by G. Stich 1840". Design of birds, flowers and trees, one edge has blue fringe. Some typical actual wear, trivial holes with minor repairs from use. It is interesting to note that the maker actually spelled poorly "Woove" (sic), making this example all the more special.
