1852-Dated, Rare Original Decorative Lithographic Print titled, (George) "Washington As A Freemason" by "M. Mote, del., Published J.W. Clayton - Dayton Ohio. - Litho. Midleton & Anderson Odd Fellows Hall. Cin. O.", Fine.
This Exceedingly Rare, impressive historical theme large Lithographic Print measures 20" x 25.5" depicting a senior George Washington shown in a standing pose in his Masonic Garb and Apron, displaying his appearance as an active Freemason. In his right hand is a document which reads, in full: "The grand object of Masonry is to promote the happiness of the Human Race - Washington." Numerous Masonic related devices are shown together with lots of surrounding allegorical material. Copyright Entered by Act of Congress in 1852.

This extremely rare decorative print includes engraved bust portraits located on each side of Washington in oval of Lafayette and President Andrew Jackson, with a legend above Jackson reading, "Past Master Of The Grand Lodge Of Tennessee. Ex: museum with tiny ink number written at the lower right edge, overall scattered light tone, has several sealed edge tears with one long fine 11" from the lower left margin to the trowel held in Washington's hand being well blended. Printed in black on heavy period wove paper cardstock and meant for display.
