c. 1888, Chromolithograph by H.A. Ogden of Union Officers and Their Uniforms, nearly Mint.

This colorful image appeared in Ogden's "Uniform of the Army of the United States, from 1774 to 1889." Although dated 1885, sources indicate that the book was not published until 1888. Image measure 12.75" x 11.25", sheet size 16.25" x 13.75" and matted to 18" x 22".

Text at bottom of image reads, "1861 - XXVI - 1866, Lieut.-Gen'l, Major-Gen'l, Brig-Gen'l, Staff, Field & Line Officers", showing various officers in the woods before some tents, U.S. Grant as the Lieutenant General seated in a chair with a cigar in his hand.
