1915 German "Vivat!" Silk Ribbon, Choice Mint condition.

Made by the Verlag Amsler u. Ruthardt of Berlin 15.5" x 2.5," printed in black ink upon orange-brown silk. Printed in German, this seems to be a commemorative ribbon made on behalf of the Red Cross (we've seen at least thirty different types). Vivat! ribbons commemorated a number of different battles from World War I (in this case, Belgrade on October 9, 1915). Different artists were recruited for each ribbon. A nice display piece. |
