Four Important Religious Christian Tracts From the 1700s

1737 and 1740-Dated, Collection of Four Important Early Colonial Era Christian Religious Tracts bound together, Including: "The Scripture-Doctrine of Original Sin Proposed to Free and Candid Examination, In Three Parts, by John Taylor, London, Printed by J. Wilson," etc., Fine.

Four scarce early religious texts that are bound together in a Contemporary Cambridge, panel-style binding and re-backed with later spine. Hardbound calf covered with embossed designs. The first book of 260 pages plus Index, by Taylor, is an Extremely Rare Title only seen in a few institutional collections. This Book measures 7.75" x 5" with the extremities are rubbed, some early repairs to the cover's corners, otherwise, the condition internally is quite good. The Four titles all being bound together with the first Taylor work are:

1. "The Scripture-Doctrine of ORIGINAL SIN Proposed To Free and Candid EXAMINATION. In Three Parts. By John Taylor..." (London, Printed by J. Wilson, 1740.);

2. "The Important Doctrines of Original Sin, Justification by Faith, and Regeneration, Clearly Stated from Scripture and Reason: vindication from the Misrepresentations of the Methodists...", by Thomas Whiston (London: John Whiston 1740, 70 pages);

3. "A Narrative of Mr. Joseph Rawson's Case... In Defence of the Common Rights of Christians..." by T. Cooper (London, 1737, 43 pages);

4. "A Further Defence of the Common Rights of Christians, Sufficiency and Perfection of Scripture, without the Aid of Human Schemes, Creeds, Confessions, &c...." by John Taylor (London: Richard Hett, 1738, 79 pages.

The title page of the first book and the last page of the last book had small sections of the bottom trimmed , likely from production as made not affecting any text. A great opportunity to get consideration of the mindset of leading Christians during the mid 1700's.
