c. 1850-1860, Pen and Ink Silhouette of a Young Woman with a strong resemblance to Belle Boyd, the famous Confederate Spy from Virginia, Period Framed, Very Fine. Confederate Spy, Belle Boyd, also famously known as the "Siren of the Shenandoah". This pleasing, nice quality Ink Silhouette is of a young woman having good style and detail. It has a very strong resemblance to Belle Boyd, the famous historic Civil War Confederate Spy from Virginia. The image shows virtually no wear being on a tan background. The silhouette image measures about 3” x 3.5” and is period framed under glass to 5.5” x 7.25” including the floral decorative brass suspension loop at top. |
