April 2, 1776, North Carolina Currency, Four Dollars, “Bumble Bee” vignette, by Authority of Congress at Halifax, PCGS graded Very Fine-30.

Fr. NC-161a. A 1776 dated Revolutionary War note, Signed by Williams, Sumner, Webb, and Haywood, in red and brown ink. Uniface, with the scarce “Bumble Bee” vignette with is sharp and clear. Holder states details and small edge repairs which are not visible. Overall have nice eye appeal being crisp and sharp, and far finer than most on this popular issue. The inking is still bright and bold throughout, the note evenly centered. Typical contemporary period endorsements on blank verso. A pleasing, above average superior quality example of this popular “Bumble Bee” $4 denomination.
