c. 1860 Civil War Era, Colorful Glass Lantern Slide, No. 10, titled, “Lincoln on Flat Boat”, by Moore, Hubbell & Company, Masonic Temple, Chicago, Very Fine.
An original, Glass Lantern Slide, measuring 4” x 3.25”, rare in multicolor. An image of a young Abraham Lincoln rowing a flat boat down a major river, likely the Mississippi. Steam paddle-wheelers seen in the background. An extremely thin fine crack runs from top to bottom but does not really diminish the appeal of this highly colorful and vivid scarce glass slide. Rare. |
