c. 1780-1800 Revolutionary War Period to Federal Period, Large Historical Liverpool Creamware Bowl, with black Transfer MAP of the WORLD Transfer within titled, “The WORLD in PLANISPHERE.” Choice Extremely Fine.

A lovely, museum quality WORLD MAP decorated Large Bowl, meant for use and display. This Liverpool Creamware Bowl measures a large impressive 13.5” in diameter and is 5” high at its rims. Expected very slight wear on the very bottom of the bowl as shown, the bottom and top rims have movement wear, overall this bowl is very solid having no chips or no cracks. It has two deep black transfer prints of English countryside hunting scenes decorating its outside, together with a third transfer scene of two “THE POLITICIAN” named “AGNON” and “ORACLE” sitting at a table outdoors in discussion with a large tankard of drink. The interior of the bowl has at center the most important and largest Transfer displaying a Double-Hemisphere MAP with two Globes of the World, surrounded by Vignettes of wonderful human historical “Personifications” of the Four Continents, with an inscription: “The WORLD in PLANISPHERE”. (It shows the view of what you would see if you were lying on the ground looking up, here the SUN with a face is rising or setting at center above the two Hemispheres.) Three additional ornate floral sprigs decorate on its interior sides making this an extremely attractive decorated MAP bowl. Ready for Map Collectors, actual use, and beautiful for display.
