c. 1814 Exceptional Quality Hand-Etched / Scrimshaw American Eagle Decorative Patriotic Powder Horn, Choice Extremely Fine.

A truly gorgeous original War of 1812 to as late as Mexican-American War fully intact Powder Horn, measuring 5.25” in overall length and 3.75” at it's widest part of its natural cut horn, with wooden ends. It is beautifully hand-etched, decorated on one side featuring a large central American Heraldic Eagle with 13-Stars on its Shield, plus Arrows and Olive Branches in its talons as seen on American coinage. In excellent museum quality condition, having its original turned and decorated wooden spout and stopper, complete, with contemporary hooked metal lanyard strap eyes. Several fine added circular decorations are seen on both ends of the horn, with all its original small period nails fully intact. Overall, a superior quality Patriotic American Power Horn rarely seen this nice, with light wear having excellent eye appeal, ready to be proudly displayed.
