c. 1770 Colonial America Period, 21-Stanza Manuscript Religious Poem, likely for a Church sermon, Very Fine.

This 21-Stanza Poem, no date, place or author, is Handwritten in deep rich brown ink on four pages of clean laid period paper, measuring 6.25” x 7.75”. Numbered stanzas, and the wording and meter of this Poem is definitely Religious in nature (at first, your cataloguer thought it was quoted from the Holy Bible). This Poem’s protagonist is Benjamin the Lymnite “a dealer in many horses” and it appears to detail his actions in giving wives among the “Daughters of the People” to his servants. A very unusual, decidedly unique item, possibly written for a Church sermon.
