(1809) James Madison Indian Peace Medal, Medium Size, 62 mm., Struck at the United States Mint from Original Dies, Choice Uncirculated.

Julian IP-9. 62 mm. Struck at the United States Mint from Original Dies, the usual Type II, clasped hands and crossed peace pipes designed reverse of 1846. A pleasing, orange-red example, cleaned long ago with natural retoning, with nice full details on both sides. This is a very rare medal. Ex: EAHA Auction 2/12/2000, Lot 867 where it sold for $1,019.
