1865-Date First Edition Abraham Lincoln Hardcover Book titled, “A MEMORIAL OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN LATE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,” Printed by J.E. Farwell & Company, Choice Very Fine.

This excellent 153-page special City Council of Boston Book measures 10.5” x 7” and includes numerous resolutions, remarks, and speeches by prominent members of the City of Boston, MA, culminating in a rare Eulogy by Senator Charles Sumner. Printed by order of the by J.E. Farwell & Company. Bound in original pebbled, beveled cloth, with central gold gilt embossing of a “Bostonia” logo on both its front and back covers very clean and has light use to the covers yet choice internally. Includes speeches by Mayor F.W. Lincoln, Jr., Senator Charles Sumner, Charles G. Loring, A.H. Rice, and Richard Henry Dana, Jr., and P.W. Chandler. Sumner’s Eulogy spans 62 pages! Like most northern cities in America, Boston shut down for all intents and purposes except to honor Lincoln and his legacy. This book is a contemporary record of the sentiments of the leaders of Boston and it is a must-read for anyone wishing to live in the anguish of the post-assassination moment without the cloud of subsequent history. The first example of this rare Boston City Council memorial to Lincoln we have offered.
