c. 1864 Civil War Era, Bust of Three Star Union Army General Ulysses S. Grant, Shown as a Three-Star Lieutenant General, Choice Near Mint.

c. 1864 Civil War, original, White Ceramic Bust on Pedestal base of Union General Ulysses S. Grant, shown as a Three-Star General, measuring 5” wide x 6.25” tall. Inscribed in tall letters with his formal title located just below his bust reading: “U.S. GRANT”. This bust would date to when Ulysses S. Grant became a Three-Star Lieutenant General, on March 9, 1864. Grant soon became a viable Political Candidate for United States President directly after the Civil War. Grant was commissioned the First Full (Four-Star) General in American history on July 25, 1866. He was elected in 1868 the 18th U.S. President with his term running from March 4, 1869 to March 4, 1877. This rare impressive highly detailed bust of General Grant is perfect for display.
