c. 1770 Revolutionary War Era, Sailor’s Belt Sword / Naval Fighting Cutlass with original Macram Covered Grip, Choice Very Fine.

This Sailor’s Belt Sword / Cutlass measures about 21” over all including the 16.5” curved Wrought-Iron blade, the grip with macram, lightly worn. A very functional weapon on Naval ships. The heavy wrought-iron blade is single edged and about 6 mm thick until the last .75” where it narrows to the tip, with no guard or knucklebow as made, as shown. Some natural salt and peppering with even patina along the blade. A nice Sailor’s Naval fighting weapon for display.
