“Welcome Lafayette” Printed Silk White Sash 32 Inch Long Actually Worn at Lafayette’s Newburyport, MA. Tour Visit

c. 1824 Marquis de Lafayette's Return Tour of America, Exceedingly Rare and important Printed Silk “Welcome Lafayette” Badge/Sash, with Printed Portrait Image of LaFayetts, Identified to his visit at Newburyport, Massachusetts, Choice Extremely Fine.

Original large Black Printed White fine Silk Ribbon Sash measuring 32" long x 1” wide with a printed central image of Lafayette and the caption above reading, "Welcome Lafayette" in the center. Accompanied by a more modern identification note reading:

"Welcome Lafayette Badge - worn by Sarissa Kimball at the time of Lafayette's visit to Newburyport in 1824."

A few trivial small holes and abrasions, but remarkably well-preserved for such a fragile item. The only such large 32 Inch Long Sash produced in tribute to the Marquis de Lafayette we have seen and offered. A remarkable opportunity as you will not locate another.
