March 4th, 1806-Dated Post Revolutionary War, Partially-Printed Document Signed, Lt. Col. Benjamin Shaw, Commanding the 3rd Regiment, Military Commission, Very Fine.

Colonel Benjamin Shaw served with General George Washington. Col. Shaw took his official “Oath of Loyalty” at Valley Forge Camp. This 1806 dated Military Commission measures about 7” x 12" and is nicely Autographed by Lt. Col. Benjamin Shaw, “Benjamin Shaw, Col. in Comd-”, while Commanding the 3rd New Hampshire Militia Regiment. He Appoints a Third Sergeant to his Company of Artillery. It is well printed on laid period paper having some expected folds, trivial scattered internal pinholes and tone, whereas all manuscript portions are dark being easily readable.

This scarce Commission dated 1806 and therefore no doubt they both served just a few years later in the War of 1812 against the British. This rare Printed Form is accompanied by additional copies of research. An original fully executed Military Appointment Document, suitable for display.
