1853-Dated Engraved Large Folding Map, “Map of Eastern Portion of British North America Including the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and Part of the New England States”, by Henry Perley, Choice Extremely Fine.

Large Foldout Map of the Eastern Portion of British North America Including the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and Part of the New England States, 1853, opening to about 25” x 45”. Henry Perley produced this foldout map for inclusion in a report by Israel De Wolf Andrews to the Secretary of the Treasury, which ultimately contained four maps bound into a single volume. This map shows the Canadian Maritime Provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, plus Quebec, New York, and parts of New England. Nicely detailed, though much has changed since this 1853 snapshot. Some slight fold tone and small pinholes at fold intersections, otherwise nice crisp and clean ready to be properly matted and/or framed.
