1798 Hand-Colored Engraved MAP OF THE UNITED STATES titled, "Part of the Published in 1798 in London this Hand-Colored Engraved Map measures 16.5" x 18" (by sight), framed to 23.75" x 27.75 overall. Printed on heavy laid period paper and it retains its original period color outlining. Professional archivally matted and housed under glass in a lovely gold gilt and burgundy modern frame. Extremely nice in its eye appeal and overall condition, with just some light fold lines. Not examined out of frame. Nice large Inset of North Carolina and Georgia is seen at lower right. Top right shows the “Province Of MAIN” (sic)!United States of North America", by John Stockdale (1750-1814), London, Framed, Choice Extremely Fine. |
