c. 1800 Late Colonial to Federal Period, American School Oil on Canvas, Portrait of a Lady, Decoratively Framed, Choice Very Fine.

This nicely framed Oil Painting measures about 8.5” x 11.5” (by sight), housed in a decorative modern period style black and gold painted frame measuring to 13” x 16”. No artist, date or place present. This well executed image shows a prominent lady wearing her fancy lace bonnet, impressive lace draped collar and wearing a formal black dress. Trivial inpainting in right top corner and lower face if any. Typical light age crazing, the canvas is still attached to its original wood backing.
