c. 1915 World War I, Patriotic "TO VICTORY" Printed Machine Gun Firing Biplane Silk Fabric with Decorative Cotton Thread Borders, Choice Very Fine. Patriotic Printed Fabric, 17" square plus fringe, displays a biplane plane with a machine gunner and its firing his weapon protruding out the front. No maker, date or place. Large yellow and blue printed "TO VICTORY" the biplane flying over a number of green trees and grass below with mountains in the background. The green fabric lined on the back. Some silk splitting at the right border fringe and between the two flyers which is hard to see and minimal. A scarce WW I Patriotic Airplane Warfare theme textile. |
