“Republican Invincibles” Collection of Ten Silk Ribbons

Abraham Lincoln Presidential, Collection of TEN 1880’s “Republican Invincibles” Silk Ribbons, From Philadelphia, established in Philadelphia during the 1860 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Campaign where they marched in torch light processions, various sizes, grading Extremely Fine to Mint.

Collection of 10, “Republican Invincibles” Printed Silk Ribbons from Philadelphia. There is only One duplicate, a few with trivial light scattered stains. The “Republican Invincibles” were a Wide Awake type Paramilitary style organization, established in Philadelphia during the 1860 Abraham Lincoln Presidential campaign, where they marched in torch light processions. They also were part of the procession that escorted Lincoln's body after its stay in Philadelphia to the train station for its journey to New York City. Most are ribbons only, some with dates (1884, 1887 and 1888) with some are for different Companies (D, E., I and "Color Guard"). Various sizes, one rare Burgundy Silk with a Hanger has a large 2” tall, Pinback with a hanging Silver Metal "R I" monogram. A nice collection of Pro-Abraham Lincoln organization political silk ribbons. (10 items)
