WILLIAM McKINLEY, (1843-Sept. 14, 1901). 25th President of the United States (1897-1901), serving from 1897 until his Assassination in 1901. A member of the Republican Party, he led a realignment that made Republicans largely dominant in the industrial states and nationwide for decades.

Corbin, Choice Extremely Fine. Arthur L. McCoy is appointed First Lieutenant in the 27th regiment of Infantry. Document features the large deep blue Presidential Seal and measures about 20,25" x 16" with excellent printed text an d vivid violet and brown ink signatures, McKinley’s measuring a huge 4.25” long. Engraved and Printed at the U.S. Treasury Bureau of Engraving and Printing. President William McKinley successfully led the U.S. in the Spanish-American War, overseeing a period of American expansionism, with the annexations of Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines, and Hawaii. McKinley also rejected inflationary plans such as free silver in favor of keeping the nation on the gold standard, and raised protective tariffs.
