Oil Painting on Canvas Depicting a Man Fishing

Click an Image to Enlarge It
Circa 1820 Early 19th century, American Folk Art style, original Oil Painting on Canvas depicting a Man drinking from his silver flask, after fishing with his catch in a creel next to his fishing rod by a stream, Framed, Choice Very Fine.

The well executed colorful sharply detailed Oil Painting itself measures 19 5/8 height x 17 5/8 width (by sight), within an ornately decorated apparently period frame, measuring fully to 13.5” high x 11.5” wide. Painting with minimal craquelature and some possible minor inpainting, the original period frame with minimal rim rubbing. Apparently professionally restretched with its frame reinforced, adding to its eye appeal. A lovely handsome Oil Painting that is an excellent example of a successful angler the period, apparently “toasting” himself for his success drinking from his silver flask, that is ready to hang on display.
