January 1st, 1780-Dated Revolutionary War Period, State of Massachusetts Bay, 6% Interest Bearing Treasury "Commodity Loan" Certificate, Anderson MA-22, Framed, Choice Extremely Fine.

Rarity-4. This Partially-Printed Document is Signed by Dawes and Cranch as the "Committee." Also Signed by Henry Gardner as Treasurer. Printed on period watermarked laid paper, measuring 5.5” x 11” (by sight), professionally matted and framed to 12.75” x 19” (not viewed out of frame). Ornate decorative border frame, left end indent and wide, full margined. Title within ornate filigree upper right. Lengthy obligation, with Commodities specified in the text for valuations. Faint embossed blind stamp. Issued for 230 Pounds, on or before March 1st, 1785, Samuel Newhall, a member of the historic Newhall family of Massachusetts.
