c. 1733-1740s, Rare French Military Model 1733 Heavy Dragoon Flintlock Holster Pistol of the French and Indian War to American Revolutionary War Period, Fine.

This French Military Model 1733 Heavy Dragoon Flintlock Holster Pistol is 19.5" in overall length. It has a 12.5" .72 caliber steel barrel with Steel lock and remnants of arsenal maker's marks (hard to read). Its Brass regulation furniture has a pleasing deep natural patina. The stock is solid with a minor chip missing from the left side of the barrel tang and from the left side at muzzle. The stock has a replaced/restored spliced in piece of wood just above the rear of lock plate. Two Roman numerals are purposefully cut as decoration on the back of wrist and further decorative marks seen in front of the trigger guard finial. Some scratches, small age cracks and dings from years of service present, as is its original belt hook. This Pistol is in its original Flintlock configuration and is in good mechanical working order. Very rare.
