1796 Castorland Medal, Copper, Reeded Edge, Original Obverse with Early Mint Copy Reverse, Whitman-9155, Rarity-5, PCGS graded MS-62 Brown.

An impressive very pleasing Castorland Medal with rich reddish-brown chestnut tone over its underlying satiny surfaces, having the eye appeal and appearance of a superior grade. The strike is sharp throughout both obverse and reverse. This rare major Original Obverse with Early Copy Reverse type is listed on page 75 of the 2024 Guide Book. The PCGS Population Guide shows only 3 graded finer, thus its quite rare.
