1874 Unique Engraved Pair of “John Shillito & Co.” Silver and Copper Cincinnati Industrial Exposition Award Medals

1874-Dated, Special Award Medals to John Shillito & Co. (An Encased Postage Stamp Merchant) Matched Hand-Engraved Pair of Cincinnati Industrial Exposition, Struck one each in Silver and Copper, each having Hand-Engraved Award Text, both Choice Extremely Fine.

This pair of 1874 special Award Medals are Engraved being presented to “John Shillito & Co.” by the Cincinnati Industrial Exposition that was held by the Ohio Mechanics Institute, Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade. These two Award Medals were each Hand-Engraved for different Awards, appearing as a matched set. The Silver medal is Awarded for, “Display of Laces - 1874” and the Copper for “Rugs and Ottomans - 1874”. Both Award medals are sharply struck on the obverse being nice in condition lightly cleaned long ago. This unique Pair of matched John Shillito & Co. medals is a nice related association item for collectors this noted major Encased Postage Stamp merchant. (2 medals).
