c. 19th Century, Hand-Painted Miniature George Washington Oval Portrait, after Gilbert Stuart, Artist Signed “Parker”, Brass framed with convex glass, Choice Extremely Fine.

This handsome original Hand-Painted Miniature is on period white natural material typically used for Miniature Portraits. George Washington’s impressively executed Portrait measuring about 1.75” x 2.25” (by sight). Housed in an oval metal 2” x 2.5” gilt brass period frame with its original suspension loop at top and silk lined felt inset for backing, Artist Signed “Parker” no date, signature located in the right field above Washington’s left shoulder. The painted image has strong rich colors that shows Washington wearing his fine civilian clothes in a chest-up pose with a rich aqua-green background. Some minor extreme outer edge wear at bottom is well hidden by its frame, clearly viewed under slightly Convex glass. Among the finest examples of early Hand-Painted Miniature George Washington Portraits we have offered over the decades. An excellent museum quality, highly attractive specimen worthy of any fine historical or Presidential collection.
