November 6, 1775, Colony of Rhode Island, Nine Pence, PMG Very Fine-25.

Fr. RI-209. This impressive bright attractive 1775 Revolutionary War note appears much nicer by eye. It is Signed by John G. Wanton and John Dexter, both in nice red ink and well printed by John Carter. Uniface, measuring 75mm x 100mm. A bright and evenly centered note with a wide bottom margin. The ink is deep and rich. The signatures are deep blood-red in appearance, especially that of Dexter. Its holder states repaired, yet is not net graded, attesting to its choice appearance. Overall, a very nice quality note that will be recognized by bidders for its strong appeal.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack's sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XVII, March, 2007, Lot 4315.
