c. 1765 Late French and Indian to Revolutionary War Era Use Wooden Canteen measures about 8” long, 5.5” tall and 3” in diameter at either rounded end. It has a very pleasing, fully intact original raised wooden spout with an antique cork for the plug. This scarce design and constructed example has six and seven tight Willow Tree bands securing each end, instead of the later commonly seen metal bands. Its original interior wooden staves appear tight and are even in a natural rich natural deep wood patina gained over the centuries.
