Colonial Currency Note Issue Printed by Benjamin Franklin
June 1, 1759 French & Indian War Period, Delaware, Twenty Shillings, Issue Printed by Benjamin Franklin, Very Fine.

Fr. DE-68. This 20s note is very well centered on both its face and back, displaying all three signatures in fine brown ink. It is well printed with text clearly readable, having a Lion vingete on the reverse along with the printed text “Printed by B. FRANKLIN, / To Counterfeit is DEATH.” An old prior mounting disturbance is located at the back bottom right corner measuring about .5” where paper is either thinned or has extra attached being hard to determine, yet the Lion vignette at bottom remains clear.

Provenance: Collection of Ambassador J. William Middendorf II.
