1874 Forest Conservation & Climate Change United States Senate Document President U.S. Grant Memorial Imprint, "the influence of forests upon the climate, and especially as to what extent their presence or absence tends to affect the temperature, rain-fall, and other atmospheric conditions...".
February 19, 1874-Dated, rare early Climate Change related United States Senate Executive Document Imprint No. 28, President Ulysses S. Grant Transmits an Extraordinary Content “Memorial” for the Preservation of Forests, 6 pages, measuring 5.75" x 9", Very Good.

Rare early Conservation and Climate Change related imprint. President Ulysses S. Grant transmits a Memorial, "upon the cultivation of timber and the preservation of forests" from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Text pointing out the need for legislation to protect the forests, and for creating a commission of forestry, and warning of the dire ecological effects of destroying the nation's forests and not cultivating timber to replace what is cut down. Also, the need to further investigate the effects on climate,

"the influence of forests upon the climate, and especially as to what extent their presence or absence tends to affect the temperature, rain-fall, and other atmospheric conditions...".

Some overall tone and marginal staining, bottom right corner torn. A rare early important Climate Change related Imprint signed in the printed text by President Ulysses S. Grant.
