1761-Dated French & Indian War Period, Hand-Colored Map fully titled, “SUITE DE L’HISTOIRE DE CARTHAGE, DEPUIS L’AN 3786 JUSQU’A L’AN 3860, SECONDE GUERRE PUNIQUE,” Choice Extremely Fine.

A quality Map measuring 15” x 21.5” overall with central Hand-coloring. Full wide margins and perfectly centered on its while period paper sheet. There is some faint light tone and a trivial marginal edge chip. The sharply engraved 9.75” x 9.25” central Map portion shows Northern Africa and part of Southern Europe comprising part of the Roman Empire. The Map is surrounded on both sides with descriptive French text, with additional history describing the second Punic War between Carthage and Rome. A boldly printed ornate outer border beautifully frames the central text and map. Comprised of two sheets joined, being from an early atlas and retaining its huge margins. Impressive and excellent for display.
