c. 1861 CIVIL WAR ERA, VIRGINIA “SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS” MOTTO, CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR ERA BRASS BREAST PLATE MEDAL WITH ORIGINAL ATTACHMENT PINBACK, Choice Near Mint.

This pleasing mellow golden-brass Civil War Confederate Breast Plate Medal Design is clean, sharply detailed and fully intact for collectors of historic Virginia militaria. This featuring the iconic legend "Sic Semper Tyrannis." and is a true representation of the Confederate States of America. That same phrase was exclaimed by actor Assassin John Wilkes Booth after his shot fired into president Abraham Lincoln's head at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C. the night of April 14th, 1865, as he leaped from the balcony to the stage breaking his leg. A defect-free example with choice eye appeal. It measures about 2.5" in diameter and is excellent for display.
