March 25, 1755, Colony of New-York, Two Pounds or 40 Shillings, PMG Very Fine-30.

Fr. NY-127. This early New York French & Indian War Period note is printed on heavy rag period paper, printed by James Parker. Uniface, Signed by Jon Livingston, I.(John) DePeyster, and possibly Oliver DeLancey (the signature very faint), being well centered and even in circulation. Two One-Pound weight vignettes are part of the imprint to discourage “raising” the denomination value. Holder states net, repaired. Its “Death To Counterfeit This Bill.” being a stern warning. A rare note, with mostly clear details, in a collectible grade. The centering is fairly even, the ink somewhat faded in spots but still easily readable. Imminently worthy of your consideration.

Pedigree: From Stack's sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part VIII, October, 2005, Lot 1525.
